Pink guitars, some people love them, many hate them, all because of the color. I have an extensive guitar collection, and discounting the acoustic guitars which are predominantly natural in color, nearly all of them are black. The only exceptions are very unusual or rare guitars that I had to buy in the color they were because there was no other option. If you're also looking for other colors, we're written about black electric guitars, red electric guitars, green electric guitars, white electric guitar, blue electric guitar.
However, I do own one pink guitar, which I will get to later. But before that, let’s start with the first on my list of the Best Pink Guitars, the…
10. EastCoast ST1 Electric Guitar in Shell Pink
I’ll start with the most affordable guitar on my list of the 10 best electric guitars you can buy in pink. This is an excellent choice for a beginner and will give you a good playing experience and a nice sound without breaking the bank.
However, as with all guitars, especially those in the lower price brackets, it’s well worth taking it to a good Luthier to get it set up properly. It will really make a difference to your enjoyment while playing the guitar.
9. Squier Sonic Stratocaster HT H Electric Guitar in Flash Pink
Moving up slightly in price, we have this lovely pink Squier Strat. It has a similar ‘strat’ look to the Eastcoast I just covered, but has a lot fewer features.
It only has a single pickup as opposed to the three single-coils on the Eastwood, but it’s a humbucker, so if you love your dirty tones, this could well be the one for you. It’s stripped down design also means that it lacks a tremolo (whammy) bar.
However, don’t necessarily look at the lack of features as a negative, many guitarists including the legendary Eddie Van Halen, Billy Joe Armstrong, Phil X, and Tom Delonge often play single pickup guitars. They have a sound that you just can’t get when there are multiple pickups.
8. Ibanez AZES40 AZ Essentials Series Electric Guitar in Pastel Pink
If you love the look of a Stratocaster, but want something that comes between
a budget Squier and ana actual Fender Strat, then Ibanez has the answer. This reasonably priced pastel pink beauty gives you the same features that you’d find on a Strat but at a more pocket friendly price.
It features a very flexible HSS (humbucker/single-coil/single-coil) pickup configuration as well as Ibanez's Dyna-MIX9 switching system that gives the guitar nine sound variations, covering all musical bases!
If you’re after a rock-solid, affordable guitar featuring a tremolo bar, the AZES40 is the perfect option.
7. Squier Sonic Mustang HH Electric Guitar in Flash Pink
Back again with Squier, but this time it’s a Mustang shape not a Strat.
Even though Mustang’s were originally student guitars when they were first released, they have gained cool ‘indie’ popularity after being widely played by the likes of Kurt Cobain, Bilinda Butcher from My Bloody Valentine, Justin Meldal-Johnsen (Garbage, Nine Inch Nails), and Ben Gibbard from Death Cab for Cutie.
If you want to let your inner indie cool show itself in pink, then this Mustang is the one for you.
6. Ibanez Steve Vai JEM-JR in Pink
Moving up in price quite a bit is this delicious pink Jem Junior from Ibanez. Even though it’s considerably more than the guitars I’ve covered so far, it is still at the lower end of the Jem line, which goes up into the many thousands of dollars. Ibanez has managed to keep the price down using more affordable woods, hardware, and manufacturing techniques, but the same high-quality Jem standard remains.
It’s a great option for anything ‘Vai’ - super fast runs, insane whammy bar tricks, and generally having a blast with a guitar in your hands.
5. Squier Mini Strat Electric Guitar in Shell Pink
This Squire secures the number 5 slot on my list of the best pink colored guitars due to its incredibly cute looks. It’s basically a Fender Strat in miniature but with all the features of the full-sized guitar apart from lacking the tremolo (whammy) bar.
Its size makes it a great first guitar for younger kids, but if you’re smaller in stature or need a travel guitar to mess around on, this is a great option.
4. ESP LTD Mirage Deluxe '87 In Pearl Pink
Quite a few of the guitars I’ve included have lacked a whammy bar, but that certainly isn’t the case with this ESP, this was made to divebomb!
If you need a metal axe for shredding and love the color pink, then this is the guitar for you. Or maybe you’re thinking of becoming the next Satchel and forming a band to compete with Steel Panther? If so, you couldn’t buy a better pink guitar!
A fantastic option for all metalheads who want to go pink!
3. Schecter Machine Gun Kelly Signature PT Electric Guitar in Pink
Who doesn’t love the look of a Fender Telecaster? The classic shape has been with us since 1952 and has hardly changed since then.
But what if you love the Tele shape, but want more, and you want it in Pink? Well, Schecter’s Machine Gun Kelly signature could be the guitar of your dreams. It maintains the look and feel of a Telecaster but has a number of super cool features including the single Schecter USA Pasadena Pickup specially designed for high-octane tones.
It also has Glow-in-the-Dark Side Markers to let you know where you are on dark stages, and a Kill Switch to create cool tremolo-style Tom Morello effects!
2. Fender Custom Shop '52 Telecaster Double Bound in Shell Pink Heavy Relic
For those of you with a big budget, or should I say, a very big budget? I bring you the most expensive guitar on my list, the Pink Fender Custom Shop Telecaster 1952 reissue.
This is a perfect recreation of one of the most iconic guitars ever built down to the finest detail. It sounds amazing, is a dream to play and everyone should own one. The only problem is that it costs the same as a car!
If money isn’t an issue, and you want the ultimate pink guitar, this is the one for you.
1. Squier Hello Kitty Stratocaster
Here we are at the No. 1 position and it’s a pink Squier start, the only pink guitar in my collection, and I absolutely love it.
I bought it for an ex-girlfriend about 17 years ago because she wanted to learn to play the guitar. However, she gave up quite quickly and the relationship ended soon after. She didn’t want the guitar, so I was left with it. I loved the look but knew that due to it being relatively affordable, many of the parts were quite low in quality.
Therefore, I swapped the neck for one off a Fender Strat, upgraded the bridge, and replaced the pickup with a Seymour Duncan JB humbucker. Now, not only does it look amazing but it’s also great to play and sounds fantastic.
Even though it was originally a low-price guitar, it has been used live by guitar greats such as Steve Stevens of Billy Idol and Michael Jackson fame, and Dave Navaro from Janes Addiction and Red Hot Chili Peppers.
Unfortunately, even though these were originally around $275 when they were released in 2006, they didn’t make many, so they have become highly collectible. Coupled with the fact that rock’n’roll royalty have used them live and many YouTube influencers have sung their praises after a few simple upgrades, they currently range in price from around $600 to $1400, if you can find one, that is.
But keep your eyes and ears open, there may still be some around at a much more affordable price, and if you do see one, buy it, upgrade it, and you’ll have a great guitar which will only go up in price.
Maybe after going through all 10 of the best pink guitars you can buy, you’ve decided that going full-on pink might be a step too far at the moment. If so, no worries, you can still add a bit of color to your current instrument with the…
